Edinburgh Printmakers and ACTINIC Festival are working in partnership to present an exhibition of photographic printmaking by Scottish based artists, that celebrates the techniques of ‘Actinism’ in the context of contemporary visual arts practice.
Each of the works on display will demonstrate the techniques of ‘Actinism’ which is an intrinsic property in radiation that produces photochemical activity including photoetching, silver gelatin, cyanotype and screen printing.
There will be an afternoon lecture on the 8th of February and Q&A with ACTINIC Festival Director and Co-curator. Tickets & info here.

We've emerged after hibernation to explore the photographic arts once again! This break gives us the opertunity to work on other procjects and give time and space to the field so we can reenter with fresh eyes (2020 vision!) and see how things have evolved.

ACTINIC Festival was established in 2015 by photographer, educator and curator Brittonie Fletcher (on a voluntary and non-profit basis). The Festival is a dedicated platform for promoting the work of, and creating opportunities for artists working with contemporary analogue photographic materials with innovative approaches. Another aim is to encourage interaction and practical communication on photographic media within arts, science and creative industries, as well as connecting and widening the community within Scotland and further afield.
